Community Calendar for the week of July 2, 2008

The Beech River Regional Airport Authority committee will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 3 at the airport. All interested parties are invited to attend.

Lexington City Hall, the City of Landfill and all Utility Offices will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday on Friday, July 4, 2008. Garbage Pickup Friday, July 4, 2008 garbage routes will picked up on Monday, July 7, 2008 as time allows. All garbage should be ready for pick-up
by 7 a.m.

St. Paul Baptist Church will have a fund-raiser car wash starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 12. Hamburgers and hot dogs also will be sold. Chanxces to win $50 in gas will be sold for $1. For more information contact Tracye Taylor at 602-0664 or Tina Pearson at 249-5001.

The 2008 Big Red Basketball Camp will take place July 14-17 from 9 a.m-1 p.m. at the LHS gymnasium.  The cost for the camp is $60, which includes lunch each day as well as a camp T-shirt.  Registration should be mailed no later than Thursday, July 10. Registrations will be accepted on July 14 as well.  Contact Terry Clement at 731-614-8688 for more information.

The Apostolic Mission of Christ Church is closing the monthly Give-Away Outreach due to lack of funding. There will be a Give-Away in December for needy families. Only toys, food will be accepted for giveaway. To donate food or toys for the December giveaway, call 968-5131

The Lexington City Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at the Caywood Elementary School Library.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 6 p.m. every Thursday at the Lexington Civic Center. If you need to lose weight, come join us. For more information call 968-8718 or 549-9138.

The Lexington Survivors Group of Narcotics Anonymous has moved! Meetings are now held at the Lexington Civic Center from 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays (closed meetings) and Saturdays (open meetings).

If you want to drink, that’s your business. If you want to stop drinking, that’s ours. Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are 8 p.m. Monday, Friday and Sunday, 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Henderson County Courthouse basement. Also available are bilingual (Spanish/English) meetings at 8 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 877-426-8330.
